We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, assisting with accounts receivable, assisting in collections, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

· General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journal entries, assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.

· Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate financial statements, reports, and schedules in compliance with accounting standards.

· Accounts Receivable & Collections: Process customer invoices, track outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue accounts, and ensure timely collections.

· Month-End and Year-End Support: Assist in preparing for audits, year-end reporting, and other financial reviews.

· Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

· System and Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting systems and operating software.

· Special Projects: Assist with ad-hoc projects and reports as requested by management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

· 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit accounting environment.

· Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

· Experience with month-end close and financial reporting processes.

· Familiarity with collections procedures and customer communication.

· Experience with Fund-Ez or other accounting software is a plus.
